Tips & tricks you should know before coming to Universal Studio Singapore
1. Print the ticket: For those who are planning to visit, we suggest you print the ticket out because some rides do not allow you to bring electronic devices in. For example, Human, Cylon, and Mummy rides, you must keep all your belongings in the locker (It’s free, using your date of birth for the password). However, you can bring the paper with you, but be careful, because somebody might be aiming for your paper!
2. Exchange money : Some shops in the park don’t have any change, so it’s better if you carry small bills to spend.
3. Spare food : It takes quite some time to wait for each restaurant due to the number of people. Thus, we recommend you bring some food such as rice balls, bread, and water. It helps a lot when you have to wait in line for quite a while.
4. Must carry : If you don’t want to get sunburned or pass out because it’s extremely hot there. You must take an umbrella, sunscreen, mini fan and inhaler

Type of Universal Studio Singapore tickets
4.1 USS Pass
For those who are on a budget and in no rush for the rides or just want to take a photo for content. This one will be the answer for you. FYI, each ride wait time is usually around 1 – 4 hours.
4.2 USS Express
This one is an expansion package that you can rush in line to ride right away, you get a separate gate to enter each ride. However, you can jump into the queue just once and that is enough for most people because people usually just get one for each ride. It will make you able to get on every ride for sure.

4.3 USS Express Unlimited
Universal Express Unlimited is also the second type of expansion. This one can skip the line unlimited for every ride. It’s worth it for those who love to smash in every ride nonstop, and for the one who loves excitement.

P.S. There might be more expansion upgrades in the package at each festival, so the price may be different.
5. Choose the time you want to go
Once you have your ticket on your mind then click reserve. There will be a pop-up calendar to select the date you’re willing to go. We recommend going on weekdays, still a lot of people but fewer than on weekends.
6. Fill contact information
Once you select the date, click add contact information. If you go with the company, add information for everyone, name and phone number in English.
Checkout
Proceed with the payment selecting which way you’re comfortable paying. Then it’s done.

Let’s go to Universal Studio Singapore
📌There are 2 ways to Universal Studio that people usually take
1 ) Bus
Before going here we went to the National Museums, so we took the 143 bus at Aft Haw Par Glass Tws station to HarbourFront Stan station to the Vivo City department store. Then go up to the 3rd floor and go to the E exit to connect the orange line train, Resorts World Station to Sentosa island.
Tips : Open GPS to check the bus is very convenient, because the information provided here is accurate and you can see where the buses are.
2 ) MRT
Take the MRT purple line (North East Line) to HarbourFront station and go to the Vivo City department store. Then go up to the 3rd floor and go to the E exit to connect the train to Sentosa.
If you have the ticket, you don’t have to use it. You can just tell the staff there that you’re going to Universal. The orange line train will bring you there in 5 minutes. Some may have to buy a Sentosa Express for $4 to Universal Studio if they can’t pass the gate. The first stop you will arrive in Sentosa is another important landmark as well.

– Take a shot with Universal Studio Globe –
Before we enter the amusement park, the landmark that all the tourists will come to take a picture with, will be placed in front of you, Universal Studio Globe!!. A lot of people are happier taking a photo with it than getting on the rides, because it’s a sign that you’ve arrived here 😂 !!
P.S. There will be so many people taking a photo, so we suggest you quickly get a shot and enter the park while people are distracted by the Globe. Also, for those who want to take a photo at New York and Hollywood zones, we recommend you get the rides first until you are satisfied and take a photo at each zone afterward, because many people will keep lining up for the rides, so you don’t have to wait for a long time.
Once you get in and get your ticket ready, the staff will scan it and let you enter the park.

– Hollywood Zone –
The Hollywood zone is the one you will meet inside. They design and create it with a Los Angeles vibe with many famous animations from Universal Studio such as Minions and Madagascar. There is a burger restaurant designed with a charming red tone and theater making you feel like you’re back in the 80s.

Keep moving forward and you will arrive in New York that looks like you’re walking on the New York streets with many restaurants, cafes, and architecture for you to take a photo of every angle.

– Spaghetti Space Chase –
In that area, you will meet the first ride!! Which is Spaghetti Space Chase from Sesame Street, a famous animation with unique cute characters. It’s very popular in America among kids and available only in Singapore!
Inside, we will see seats like in a spaceship and not-so-long lines to ride. The ride theme is to beat a villain who stole spaghetti!!This will be an important mission to take the spaghetti back!! It’s very cute and not scary at all, suitable for children.

– Sci-Fi City TRANSFORMERS The Ride : The Ultimate 3D Battle –
Tadaaa~ The next zone is for real fans of the huge sci-fi movie, Transformers that transform themselves from robots to vehicles. The decorations in this area are almost the same as in the movie, so cool!!
At the front, there will be a human in a robot costume that looks so real. You can line up to take a photo with them. In this picture is just Optimus standing there.
For TRANSFORMERS The Ride : The Ultimate 3D Battle, one time won’t be enough for the fans. You will be seated in the car-like spaceship with 3D glasses and go on an adventure with blue Transformers, good guys, to beat the villains, Autobots, who are intruding into the office to steal Allspark.
It’s similar to the first Transformers we watched with the fighting scenes and throwing us around with the real-time projections. It’s like we’re in that moment witnessing the real Autobots. Super fun!!!

Universal Studio EP.6
– Human –
Battlestar Galactic Human & Cylon is the one that you will arrive at after the Transformer. This zone will terrify all of you, since you look up in the sky, there will be roller coasters in the Battlestar Galactic theme, a legendary sci-fi movie.
The first one we arrived at was Human. There’s a so-long line, even for Express users is still wait a lot but less than the regular ticket. You will have to wait until you feel sleepy and lonely because they don’t allow you to bring a phone with you, you must keep it in the locker.
There are many lockers to keep and store it for free, But!! You can store it for only 45 mins. If you want to go on the Human, store your belongings first. After that, if you still want to ride the Cylon, take your items and restore them.
The Human is the one with the red track, the appearance is like a rocket ship with a bottom to place your feet. If you want something soft, this one is okay but the start is just an unexpected burst start 😂 No twist and twirl track at 360 degrees. If you feel you want to scream, just do it, don’t keep it!

– Cylon –
Continue with the villain roller coaster. It’s another great landmark of the amusement park, so the line looks even longer than the Human. The regular ticket might have to wait for about 2 – 3 hours, but an hour for express. It’s better to come in the morning, so you will have more time for other rides afterward.
The coaster track is gray and the interior design looks like a beast and aliens den. The seats are bottom-free, you have to hang your legs while riding, super terrifying!! This one is twist and twirl for 360 degrees, up, down, and curved but not as terrifying as the Human. If you’re on this ride, just scream and you will feel better. This one gives quite a bit more dizziness than the Human and its safety is the best. Don’t worry.

If the Cylon doesn’t satisfy you enough, there are accelerator yellow teacups for you to keep rolling!! You will see it right away after riding the Cylon and it’s the only ride that makes us feel nauseous. We don’t recommend it to anybody who hates dizziness hahaha.

Lunch for gaining energy back
We arrived here at 11:00 ish, so after the morning activity we should get some rations. There are various foods for you to choose from, however, it is super crowded. You have to wait anyway, otherwise, you won’t get any food to your stomach 😂
The above picture here is from Mel’s Drive-In™ decorated as in the 80s like Back to the future. We ended up not getting it because of the long line.
The one we chose was Fossil fuels, it’s a hot dog zone in the Jurassic Park area. Various menus are in here, but sadly we didn’t take a picture of the front shop.
Since we were there during Halloween, the menu that we got was R.I.P. hotdog, chicken hotdog, and cheese topped up with con carne chili served with fries and sodas. The total is $25; for us, it’s a bit pricey but for locals, it might be normal 😂
It tastes like a red chicken sandwich from 7-11 and pizza. The decorated eyes are so cute and taste like sweet candy.
For those who are craving coke, liquors, or corn dogs. The prices are the same as in the pictures~~
P.S. Some shops don’t have any change, so prepare for some small bills, otherwise, the shops will get everything without change for you. Scan payment is available, but bring cash just in case.

Universal Studio EP.8
– Far far Away –
After fulfilling your stomach, we will bring you to an impressive zone Far Far Away, it’s a fairy tale zone from the movie Shrek with the King Harold castle. The area will be full of character rides from Sherk.
Donkey, Dragon, and the cute cat with a smart voice. There is plenty of food and benches, but not as much as people visiting here 😂. It’s melting during the day which made us get sunburnt after the trip 😢, so using sunscreen, and bringing umbrellas and mini fans would be better.

– Donkey Live & Shrek 4-D Adventure –
For those who want to take some rest or cool yourselves in the aircon room, here is the 4DX Shrek theater. While waiting, they will let visitors get into a big hall with a huge mirror displaying the Cookie captured by a giant. They’re waiting for a certain number of people before the visitors get in.
The story will be told about how Lord Farquaad died and became a spirit to avenge Shrek and Donkey by kidnapping the princess.
At the beginning of the listening, they will roughly tell you the background to catch up for those who haven’t watched Shrek. Then the doors will be open for you to enter the 4D theater. We suggest you sit at the back, otherwise, your neck will be in pain from facing up to the monitor.
This is the picture before entering the theater. Don’t be in a hurry to get the seats because there are enough for everybody. The features of the seat are so amazing, watering, blowing, and other effects. So surprise.
P.S. From our notice, some seats in the middle zone are broken, so don’t sit!! Go take a seat in another zone instead, so you won’t fail.
And absolutely, cool green glasses to watch the movie. There will be a return box at the exit when you’re done. 20 mins were fast in there.

Universal Studio EP.10
– Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey –
After cooling down from the movie, let’s move to another character coaster Puss in Boots, a knight cat with a warm voice from Shrek. It’s the only ride at Universal Singapore which is decorated with a giant vine. It will bring us to the adventure of the cat fighting between the villains!
It’s suited for both kids and adults because it’s not that scary. Actually, we didn’t think it would be this scary!!
From the outside, it looks like a kid’s ride, but it made some of you scream already. The ride will start by gently going upward and then drop race down quite terrified!!

– Enchanted Airways –
If we go backward from Puss in Boots opposite Far Far Away, we will see Enchanted Airways, a red dragon ride.
It’s a huge red dragon and donkey ride from Shrek. There were not many people since we came around 3 – 4 pm.
We were so confused while waiting because we heard the screams so many times but didn’t know where they were from. Then we realized it was the rides that we were waiting for!!Another confusion was the track is small, is it really terrifying? The third confusion was, is it that scary 😂
Then we realized!! It was a great swing and fun!! Super awesome ride that we love. If you come here, you should stop by.

– The Lost World –
Then we’re going back to The Lost World zone or what we know as Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure.
It’s a dinosaur zone with food and rides, there is also rafting, but it was closed for maintenance when we were there. So we walked right to the Canopy Flyer in the Jurassic Park zone instead!!

– Canopy Flyer –
Another must-ride for kids and adults with no express line. It’s 4 seats for the front and back sides, 2 each. Sitting backward will be a bit terrifying since you won’t know what is awaiting you.
Phones can be carried while riding, so you can take photos from the ride. Canopy Flyer is a ride for you to see the view and atmosphere downward around you. Nothing much but it’s worth a ride.

– Ancient Egypt Revenge of the Mummy –
This is the last zone and a highlight of Universal Studio Singapore after Jurassic Park, because this zone will bring you to the land of The Mummy that feels like you’re in Egypt. Anubis statues are all up high across the way to impress others!!
The ride at the zone will have a black Anubis statue at the entrance, very beautiful. Before entering the ride, don’t forget to store your belongings at the locker next to the entrance to the right.
There were not many people at 16:00 when we were there, because a lot of people usually lined up for rides in the morning. So we recommend you come in the afternoon.
At first, it looks fascinating how it’s going to be and the more you keep going in it’s changed and turned into a dark feeling!! We don’t want to spoil it, so you should go and try it. What we can say is after the ride we still got trembling. It’s so extreme if described. There will be a photo sneakily taken while you were riding, so stunning with our expression 😂
We recommend coming around 15:00 – 17:00, it’s worth a shot. After 17:00 we were afraid that the ride might have some issues to fix and it would be in vain waiting, but that’s not happened so often.

– Treasure Hunters –
Opposite The Mummy, there will be another ride that doesn’t have an express line, Treasure Hunters, an ancient Egypt attraction.
It’s a slow tour riding into the jungle and ruins seeing Hippopotamus, vultures, cobras, and cheetahs.

– King Julian’s Beach Party-Go-Round –
Soft ride King Julian’s Beach Party-Go-Round, the merry-go-round from Madagascar theme that we can rush and skip the kid line… We meant to walk lining up and sit on each character for a ride.

Universal Studio EP.17
– Lights, Camera, Action with Steven Spielberg –
After all the rides, we will end up with Live Action which is located in the New York zone, Steven Spielberg movie theater.
Steven Spielberg is a famous director who is adept at VFX. Inside the theater, there’s a Live Action show that had no seats. The time we went was at 18:00. For those who stay at the front line, will experience the full effects of the show, however, we recommend you to watch a bit further to the back and see the overall view 😂
When we enter, they will leave us in the dark aircon room and play some bibliography of Steven Spielberg, a billionaire American movie director by making movies such as Jaws, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Raiders, Catch me if you can, Back to the Future.
When the short film is done, the gate of the other room will open. There will be a demonstration of how they create sound and production in a model scene for a film. It’s stunning.
Especially, if you’re not in the industry, you should visit. Everything was so impressive such as electric leakage, flood, hurricane, explosion, fallen ceiling, and a gigantic boat smashing into the room. It’s another impressive watch, so don’t forget to stop by here. It’s so cooooool !

Ending the journey with a souvenir!
After you’re satisfied with the park, it’s time to chase for souvenirs. The price is a bit pricey but acceptable because it’s from the Universal Studio Store. It’s full of souvenirs from many famous animations by Universal Studio, accessories, dolls, clothes, hats, pens, and headbands. If you carry enough money, let’s take something for your friends and lovers as a reminder of coming here.

During Halloween, there was an expansion package for haunted houses after 19:00, spooky!! Anyhow, we earned so many things from this trip, and we’re really proud of us for coming from 11:00 to 18:00. That was a great experience.
